Black women Appreciation

🎼 Listening to Sauti Sol and Patoranking – MELANIN

I love this song so much ❤️

It makes me so happy to be African.

Am dripping gold, caramel and honey

And to see other girls embrace their blackness, natural hair ( the race for Nappy hair these days wow 😮) I usually give advice to my friends with natural what to use for theirs to help them maintain it and that makes me feel very proud of my 4c Hair.

Our unique features and Melanin skin, the very first time i heard Melanin I did not understand what it meant and honestly I did not bother finding out.

MELANIN; it’s a dark brown to black pigment occurring in the hair, skin and iris of the eye in people. It’s responsible for tanning of skin exposed to sunlight.

Most of us black women do not appreciate our color, please you should start doing that.

All black women are beautiful, when I say black women I mean African women in general whether mixed ( half cast) or light skinned, caramel skin, dark cocoa/ beautiful bronze lol! We are all black women.

In the past black women were under appreciated but the appreciation level now is like 105% 🖤. Growing up and seeing a lot of American movies back then, I thought to myself that maybe God was biased, creating the white folks with long/silky hair, fair flawless skin and beautiful eye color, I wished I was just like them. But as I grew up and time went by I realized how beautiful my skin is, and that the white folks have machines and could not wait for summer to go to the beach to get their skins tanned.

Meanwhile I have a skin which they admire, HOW EXCITING IS THAT??? 😉 then I realized my skin was Gold, beautiful and unique. We have come along way but still have a long way to go, my hope is that this post may remind YOU to be proud of your skin color, you should be proud of your African heritage regardless of how light or dark your skin is.

Here are 2 is quotes from strong black women I love so much

Lupita Nyong’o ; “I cant run away from who I am and my complexion or the larger society, and how they may view that”

Upile Chisala ; I am dripping Melanin and honey. I am black without Apology (this is my fav❣️)

You should be Proud of your skin….

•the black skin is not a badge of shame but rather a glorious symbol of natural greatness- Marcus Garvey

Am convinced that we black women possess a special indestructible strength that allows us to not only get down, but the get up, to get through and get over- Janet Jackson

I indulge you to start loving your skin color, take care of your self be proud, Carry yourself well and you will thank me later 😘
